The Region of Murcia has elevated the Jubilee Year of Caravaca de la Cruz from a local project into a strategic one bolstering tourism in the Region, in this effort benefitting from the support and cooperation of the Region of Murcia's different public administrations, and its private sector, through the Camino de la Cruz Foundation.
Since its inception in 2017 the Foundation has backed a whole multitude of actions, projects and initiatives to promote, publicize and improve infrastructures, including major exhibitions such as Magna Urbe, Una historia del Arte en Caravaca; Signum; La gloria del Renacimiento en el Reino de Murcia (The Glory of the Renaissance in the Kingdom of Murcia); Místicos and the restorations of the facades of the Parroquia (Parish Church) de El Salvador and the Convento de Santa Clara in Caravaca de la Cruz, as well as the signposting of the Camino de la Vera Cruz and the entrance to the city through its historic quarter.
The Caravaca Jubilee Year is promoted by its major sponsors Postres y Dulces Reina, Grupo Fuertes, Estrella de Levante, and Costa Cálida, along with the Fundación La Caixa; and benefits from participation by the Universidad Católica de Murcia, Limcamar, Grupo Orenes, Grupo Caliche and Café Salzillo.
