LORCA
Lorca is history, heritage and tradition.
The city center was declared a Historic-Artis-
tic Site in 1964 and its castle was declared a
National Monument in 1931. Strolling through
Lorca's medieval walls, Renaissance chur-
ches, Baroque palaces and theaters.
Among all its monuments, the Castillo de
Lorca castle is the most famous. In 2003, it
was transformed into a large thematic space
dedicated to the Middle Ages known as La
Fortaleza del Sol.
Boasting a great scenery diversity on your
cycling routes through Lorca, from the Tierras
Altas del Norte (Northern Highlands), the ferti-
le Valle del Guadalentín Valley and the tran-
quil pristine coastline of the Parque Regional
Calnegre y Cabo Cope.
