LA UNIÓN
La Unión is a municipality located in the
southeast of the region, between the beaches of
the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea,
which enjoys a unique and different landscape.
Sierra Minera, declared an Asset of Cultural
Interest, painted in lead and silver, mixed with
touches of iron, manganese, zinc, blende or
pyrite, grants the landscape a unique style,
intensely marked by the footprint left by the
mining industry over centuries of activity.
Whoever visits La Unión during the Holy Week
has the privilege of watching a passionate
parade, the Minera Holy Week declared a Fiesta
de Interés Turístico Regional, Festival of Regional
Tourist Interest. The Feria Nacional de Minerales
y Fósiles, National Minerals and Fossils Fair, one
of the most important in Spain, is also scheduled
at this time of year.
